Martin has over 30 years of military, security and canine experience. After serving with the British Army, he trained service dogs for Patrol, AES, Narcotics and Body Detection in addition to training Messenger Dogs.
In 1992, after completing over 12 years of service in Her Majesty’s Forces, he was employed as a civilian K9 Handler directly by the British Forces Germany. In this position, he patrolled bases and later became a Chief Armed Dog Handler. He was responsible for running a 30-man dog team and maintaining the training of all K9 teams.
In 1994, Martin opened his own training kennel and began supplying many U.S-based Police and Corrections departments with fully trained dogs. In 1997, he received a procurement contract with USAF Lackland Texas and the FAA where he supplied dual- and single-purpose dogs. Between 1997 and 2001 Martin supplied over 150 dogs to USAF and FAA. He also supplied K9s to South Africa, Australia, Holland, Canada, Germany, and the UK.
In 2001, Martin emigrated to Canada and utilized his broad military background to enter the residential and commercial security industry. Martin brings his specialized knowledge and experience to PADS-K9 Protection and Detection Service.
